ABOUT THE AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR

Susan Schenck Izard is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ and a spiritual director. She is the coauthor of Knitting Into the Mystery: A Guide to the Shawl-Knitting Ministry, a mother, and a grandmother. She loves to garden, take long walks with her husband and beloved dachshund, Ollie, and read stories to her grandchildren.

Carroll Semmes Schenck works as an artist and teaching artist in her art studio and at her local art museum. She has an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and specializes in illustration, fine art, and caricature posters she calls “Carriecatures.” Carroll is a mother and also loves to garden
