Jennie hears her deceased grandmother’s voice and embarks on a quest. On her path, she meets Amadeus, an old friend. As they grapple with their own broken hearts, their echoes from the past, will they also find love and healing? And then there are the children. In the woods and cemeteries of Temple and on Voter Hill in Maine, Jennie connects with ancestral spirits and angels, as she did in childhood. The stories of the author’s Deane and Parkhurst ancestry are told through Jennie’s visions.community broadened her teenage perspectives and inspired some unexpected life choices.

* * *

Jennie and Amadeus are a truly compelling pair of lovers, not only because of their eyes for each other, but because of their deep passion for the land, the forests, their community, their ever-present ancestors, and ultimately their children. Childhood friends who reconnect in midlife, Jennie and Amadeus are watched over by bright angels and by soul-friends that Jennie calls treasures, also by the spirits of those who have come before and who have their own compelling stories. Beverly Knowles has crafted a wise, warm, and profoundly heartening story you’ll wish would never end. Echoes from Deane Mountain is a treasure, magic you’ll return to again and again
