As a cooperative-style publisher, Maine Authors Publishing’s goal is to support local, independent authors throughout the publishing process with affordable editing, design, printing, distribution, and marketing services.

Woman Who Speaks Tree
Maine Authors Publishing is a great cooperative effort to get our books into the hands of readers. Authors work together to promote their books, with the guidance of Jane Karker, who knows the book business well. The design services are smooth and thoughtful; [they're] never too busy to do yet another editing run-through of a work in progress. MAP makes being a writer a less lonely métier.

My experience with Maine Authors Publishing has been truly amazing. I appreciate the professional and well-connected staff who have
helped me navigate the many aspects of the publishing and marketing process for my first memoir, From Fledgling to Flyer. Thank you,
MAP, for your ongoing support and providing opportunities for Maine authors to network with each other and the world of readers.

My experiences with traditional publishers led me to choose to work with Maine Authors Publishing on my seventh and eighth books, Islands of Time and The Other Island: Ben’s Story. Now I’m part of a competent team that handles what I can’t do well: design, printing, distribution, and accounting. Now I can focus on doing what I love: writing!

I am currently publishing my third picture story book through Maine Authors Publishing and I couldn’t be happier with their services. Their guidance and support make the publishing process easy, and although it is a team effort, I get to make the final decisions on how my book gets published. My first book, Baxter the Moose, is already getting recognition in bookstores and libraries throughout the state. I smile whenever someone tells me they saw my book in one of these venues. It is fun being part of this team, and I am looking forward to the many book fairs and author events this year! Thank you, MAP, for helping my dream come to fruition!

I have published two books through Maine Authors Publishing. MAP assists authors by handling many of the business aspects of publishing
and by providing tips and training to help in marketing. I have found MAP staff members to be very supportive and responsive, and I
recommend MAP to any author who is considering publishing a book.

We can’t say enough positive things about Maine Authors Publishing. They are supportive, encouraging, and a truly valuable resource for the experienced and particularly for the inexperienced writer. Not only do they print and promote our books, they offer professional development opportunities and marketing as well. What success we had with our little children’s book is due in great part to Maine Authors Publishing and their professional team. Thank you to Jane Karker and her amazing staff.
