by Shawn Withers with Sylvia Sims
Having a stroke is not that rare, but when you are a 19-year-old kid and you are left half paralyzed, that’s devastating. Shawn Withers chose to fight back against this tragedy, through hard work and perseverance. He went on to earn a college degree and black belts in several martial arts styles. He opened his own martial arts school and developed a style of martial arts for people with disabilities. He has dedicated his life to spreading his philosophy that it is not about what you can’t do; it’s about what you can do. Join Shawn as he recounts his compelling story of courage and hear from the people who helped him along the way as well as those who benefitted from his experience.
