It’s the story of a woman and her daughter starting a new life, which begins at sea, and a desperate attempt at survival. Set along the coast of Maine, the story has wonderful descriptions and imagery.

A Place of Herons is a delightful wild ride, filled with romance, history, and adventure. I thoroughly loved reading it, and felt the characters come alive through Jeanne’s storytelling. The historical setting and descriptions of the wild New England nature captured my imagination, and I hope to read more from Jeanne in the future.
