by Heidi Martin Washburn

Madelyn Davis’s life is in crisis. As the talented young journalist struggles to break through a writing slump, her marriage suffers, and she must face a silent loss that she doesn’t fully understand. After her boss places her on leave to “get herself together,” Madelyn finds employment as a caregiver/companion for Victoria Davenport, an elderly summer resident with a tragic past. The two women make an instant connection, and over the summer, discovered secrets lead to the truth about a decades-old mystery. Along the way, Madelyn and others in her orbit learn that truth is not always what it seems, and accepting truth takes as much courage as finding it.
