by Sally Williams
The founders of Hiram, Maine, and their wives and children
are fascinating—pioneers all, war heroes some, scoundrels a few. The stories of forty-five settler families focus on the period from 1774–1830, a time of adventure and energy. Stories are both unique to Hiram and universal, some of which are told in Faces of Founders: Hiram, Maine for the first time.
